October 29, the date must be remembered by Shakib Al Hasan. Is it just because the ban was lifted today? This is certainly a big reason. However, for a purely cricketing reason, Shakib should not forget the day of October 29.

On this day 11 years ago, Shakib played one of the most stormy winnings in international cricket. The left-hander hit a six-ball century in the second ODI of the series against Zimbabwe at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium. In ODIs, it is still the second-fastest century of Bangladesh batsmen.

Shakib set the record for the fastest ODI century in Bangladesh a couple of months ago. It was also the second ODI of the series against Zimbabwe at Bulawayo. Shakib scored a century off 63 balls in that match on August 11, 2009. Shakib, who played an innings of 104 runs, hit six sixes that day.

In the innings of October 29, 2009, however, it did not rain sixes. Shakib hit a total of 3 sixes that day. However, the Bangladesh captain hit 15 fours in all Shakib's shots in that match. Zimbabwe managed to give Bangladesh a target of 220 runs that day. Tamim Iqbal and Junaid Siddique did not start the storm. Rhythm fell after 44 runs in 3.4 overs in the opening pair. Junaid, who made 23 off 12 balls, returned with a catch off the fifth ball of the over by Elton Chigumbura. After that Mohammad Ashraful and Tamim Iqbal also returned with 13 balls and 12 runs. The Zimbabweans were looking forward with 3 wickets for 56 runs.

However, Zimbabwe's hopes were blown away by Shakib when he came to the wicket. Bangladesh won the match in 29.3 overs without losing any more wickets in his mercurial batting. The only doubt in the match was whether Shakib would score a century.
When Bangladesh needs 26 runs to win the match, Shakib is 20 runs away from the century. The suspicion was completely dispelled in the 26th over by Chamu Chibabar. Shakib played five balls in that over and scored 14 runs in 2 fours and 1 six. Bangladesh needed 12 runs in 20 overs to win the match, Shakib needed 6 runs to get a century. After one over, the equation stood at 8 and 3 runs.

That day.

Shakib hit the third ball of the 30th over with a third man without reaching the boundary. The captain equalized the series with another four off the next ball to ensure the team's victory. Shakib's innings was watched by spectators from the other end of the wicket that day, with his partner Rakibul Hasan in the unbroken fourth wicket of 175 runs. Rakibul made 39 off 65 balls.

Shakib took 1 wicket in bowling before he had such an absolute dominance with the bat. However, he did not get the Matchsera award. Abdur Razzak was the best in the match. The left-arm spinner took 5 wickets for 29 runs
